New Etrek journey begins in February

Four years ago I launched a learning alternative called ETREK. My desire was to offer actual real world opportunities during this transitional time between "institutional to emerging" forms of church, education and networking. ETREK takes us beyond critiquing the systems of the past and creates a new experience of collaborative learning groups with the benefit of seminary credit. If you are looking for a life long learning option and you don't need the credit, then take the course at a reduced rate. ETREK combines face to face group interaction, one on one coaching, small group discussions, online collaborative tools and conference calls with leading experts in Youth Ministry - Kenda Ginny, Tony Jones, Dan Kimball, Steve Argue and Mark Ostreicher. This 12 week journey is facilitated by Mark Riddle beginning Feb. 9-10 in Philly, PA with a two day gathering followed by 6 conference call and wraps up again April 20-21. Generous Orthodoxy Conference, Day 2
If you want the full notes on this event by someone who was blogging the event live, go to Radical Congruency by Justin Baeder and Aaron Ogle. For me the second day was all about the hallway conversations I had with Jason Evans, Steve Lewis, Ken Loyd and Brad Bailey to name a few. I really enjoy interacting with practitioners who are wrestling with God's calling on their lives. Probably the best part of the trip has been the chance to spend time and get to know Bill Dahl, one of my favorite authors and fellow followers of Jesus. I also got the chance to urge a number of folks to write articles for Next-Wave, so in every way possible it was a great experience. Jim Henderson really knows how to put on an entertaining educational experience, and he sings the blues, too.

National House Church Conference
The National House Church Conference, sponsored by House2House, will be held Labor Day 2003 in Irving, Texas. Neil Cole of Church Multiplication Associates will be the main speaker. Others presenting are David Walters, John White and Tony Dale.
